Spring Fair NEC

Today I visited the Spring Fair at Birmingham, although a lot of the products were commercial there was a few designer makers there.

Tattersfield used bright colours and pyschodelic patterns within animals. This was a great example of a contemporary that is producing similiar work in my area. It is good to see that this was a successful exhibitor at the Spring Fair.

I think to be selling your work at the Spring Fair you need to be able to produce large quantities ready for orders, so handmade crafts may not be suitable, however handpainted designs for wall art or cushions and scarves would be a good seller.

Chase and wonder were a great example of how this idea would work. Producing illustrated artwork as framed peices and also making products to compliment such as washbags and cushions. The illustrations were given quirky names to appeal to buyers as it would appeal to customers. I like how they use only dashes of colour in their black and white designs.
