These images of Indian and Islamic buildings inspired me with their use of pattern.
I researched a lot of buildings and temples and got a lot of images to have a variety of patterns.
I took elements from all these different parts to create my own unique painted buildings. I used a mixture of materials including paint, gel pens, glitter and inks.
This design is by the House of Lesage, usually specialising in couture embroidery, he also paints and creates designs . This decorative design below is reflected which makes it look even more detailed and larger than it originally would have been. The composition inspired me for my own building designs.
I found this image on google of a large scale design on a wall. I like how the design at the bottom is like a garden and then there is large scenery across the wall. This also inspired me of how my designs could be applied on walls, instead of just a drop of wallpaper in a repeat.
With this design I printed out parts of the buildings I had and cut them up to create another design. I created a little garden. I cut parts of other designs up an put them over designs. I chose to put the design on a textured paper, I would have liked to try creating a background with inks first. But I stitched feathers onto the paper instead.
